Pastor, Wife, 8 Church Members Killed!
To describe the auto crash that claimed the lives of a couple, and eight other members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) traveling from the monthly camp meeting on the Lagos – Ibadan Expressway to Ondo town as tragic is an understatement.
Three of the victims, a Zonal Pastor in Ondo Province 2, Pastor Dominic Folorunso Akinseye, 52; his wife, Beatrice; and Pastor Festus Akinsoyinu Fadakinte, were staff of the Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo while the seven other passengers in the bus were staunch members of the church. Reports had it that the impact of the crash was so much that it took time before the mangled bodies of the deceased persons could be removed from the wreckage.
Seven persons died on the spot while four others were rushed to the Trauma Centre in Ondo town but three others later died.
Father Legally Marries Son After 52 Years Together
A couple who were legally father and son for the last fifteen years had their adoption vacated and were married this week after 52 years together.
Norman MacArthur, 74, and Bill Novak, 76, were married in Pennsylvania on Sunday. The couple, who has been together since their 20s, registered as domestic partners in New York City in 1994, but in 2000 they moved to Erwinna, Penn., where domestic partnerships are not legally recognized. “When we moved to Pennsylvania, we had both retired and we were of the age where one begins to do estate planning,” MacArthur says.
“We went to a lawyer who told us Pennsylvania was never going to allow same-sex marriage, so the only legal avenue we had in order to be afforded any rights was adoption.”

President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned Friday’s terrorist attack on Maiduguri, warning that his new administration won’t tolerate wanton and willful destruction of life by criminal elements that are bent on anarchy.
Reacting to the attack, which left scores of people dead, injured and maimed, President Buhari said in a statement issued by his Head of Media Team, Garba Shehu, that his administration meant business in its determination to tackle terrorist violence with all the resources available to his government.

President Buhari : We've Not Banned Anyone From Travelling
President Muhammadu Buhari says officials of past administrations including ministers are entitled to their full rights and privileges under the constitution and must not be subjected to any undue harassment and intimidation at the airports or at other points of entry and exit.
"We have not banned anyone from travelling," said the President.
Responding to some cases of "V.I.P stoppages" at the airports as reported to him on Saturday, President Buhari directed all agencies under the government to run their affairs in full compliance with extant rules, regulations and the constitution of the country.
Buhari, Osinbajo Declare Assets
President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo have declared their assets in line with provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
This was contained in a statement issued on Saturday by Buhari’s Head of Media Team, Garba Shehu.
The statement said that the Code of Conduct Bureau on Friday acknowledged the submission of the two leaders’ assets declaration forms.
The forms, the statement said, were submitted separately on May 28 and signed for by the organisation’s Chairman, Sam Saba.

Paris Looks To A Future Without Love Locks
There's no love lost between Paris and the tourists who leave padlocks, famously called "love locks," on the city's Pont des Arts bridge.
The Paris City Council announced plans to dismantle the padlocks, which are meant to signify eternal love, starting this Monday. In recent years, tourists have signed the locks with their initials and locked them on the metal grills on the bridge's sides, but many locals consider them to be eyesores. Plexiglass panels will eventually replace the grills.

I Was Worried I Would Be Booed, Jonathan Admits As He Returns Home
Journalists were on the scene as former President Goodluck Jonathan arrived in Yenagoa, the capital city of his home State of Bayelsa.
The former president publically announced that he wished to settle in his hometown Otuoke in Bayelsa State a few days.
Mr. Jonathan was met by a jubilant crowd of supporters, from across the six States of the Niger Delta region. The former president was accompanied by his wife, Patience Jonathan, despite previous reports that the Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan were quarrelling because she expressed little interest in returning to Bayelsa State.
Mr. Jonathan was also accompanied by Ondo State Governor Olusegun Mimiko, the Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson, along with other dignitaries.
Twin Bomb Blast Rocks Wedding Service In Borno State
Two bomb explosions have killed at least seven people and injured many others during a wedding ceremony at Tashan Alade in hawul Local Government of Area of Borno State. The explosions occurred on Friday morning, as final preparation for the Inaugural addresses across Nigeria take place.
According to sources at the scene, the incident occurred at about 6 am this morning. Ibrahim Birtus, a local vigilante in the area, said that the twins blasts killed at least 7 people and injured many others. A suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Labourers were on Thursday putting finishing touches to five buildings at Mr. Jonathan’s residence.
Two roadblocks, mounted by the operatives of Battalion 5 of the Joint Task Force Operation Pulo Shield, were situated on either side of the spacious compound. Movements were restricted around the premises.

The platform which publishes the biography of personalities around the world, now refers to Buhari as the current President of Nigeria.
Few hours before inauguration, it identifies him as “a retired Major General in the Nigerian Army who was Head of State of Nigeria from 31 December 1983 to 27 August 1985, after taking power in a military coup d’état.

Girl Gang-raped By Boyfriend, 3 Others
Detectives from Ondo State Police Command have arrested four students of Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, for allegedly gang-raping a female student of the institution.
The victim is a girlfriend of one of the suspects.
The suspects, according to a police source, are student in the Department of Business Education in the institution.
Police source said the victim, who is on admission in a private hospital, was raped at a residence in Oka area of the town until she became unconscious.
Kidnappers Of Ex-President Jonathan’s Cousins Demand N50m Ransom
The kidnappers of Patience Egbeni and Kate Eni, cousins to President Goodluck Jonathan, have reportedly demanded N50 million ransom for their release.
The victims were kidnapped on May 20 at Akipelai, Jonathan’s maternal home town in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
The victims were part of Jonathan’s family relations looking forward to his triumphant return to the state today after his service to the country.
The gunmen were said to have contacted their families five days after their abduction demanding the N50 million ransom to set them free.
Court Acquits Suspect Over Hiv Status
Magistrate M. Opeagbe of an Igbosere Magistrate’s court, yesterday, discharged and acquitted a HIV positive and tuberculosis patient, Aliu Musa, 38, who allegedly stole an i-Pad valued at N85,000.
The magistrate discharged him of the theft based on his health status, adding that she did not want him to go and infect other inmates in the prison, if sent there.
The defendant, who was arraigned on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing, pleaded guilty to the charges against him.
Musa, who was coughing out blood in court while the charge was being read to him, was handed tissue paper by the magistrate to cover his mouth.
Why El-rufai’s Inauguration Ends Abruptly
It was reported that El-Rufai could not review the parade mounted by the police as some youths pelted dignitaries with water sachets, stones and other objects in the pavilion.
This prompted security agents to fire tear gas into the crowd at the Murtala Square, Kaduna.
Some dignitaries in the pavilion included the Emir of Zazzau, Dr Shehu Idris, and other traditional rulers in the State.

Surrogacy Gone Wrong As Birth Mother Fought To Get Baby Back
After registering her details with a reputable surrogacy website, where couples can advertise for surrogates and vice versa, Wendy, who lives in the north of England, was delighted when just a few days later she was contacted by Jane and William, a couple in their 40s.
‘They were desperate to have a baby,’ she says. ‘Jane told me health problems meant she’d had to have a hysterectomy and so had missed out on having a family. My heart went out to them.’
Obviously this meant Wendy would have to use her own eggs and would be biologically related to any baby that was born. But after careful thought, and moved by the couple’s apparently desperate situation, she chose to go ahead.
‘Every month, when a woman goes through her cycle, an egg is wasted — I felt I would be giving life to an egg that would otherwise not have life and James agreed,’ she concluded.
Over the next four weeks the couples chatted regularly online and on the phone, eventually deciding to meet.
Man Orders Two Hookers & Daughters Show Up
A Los Angeles dad-of-ten, Titus McDonalds, 49, suffered a panic attack and collapsed when the call-girls he ordered to come to his hotel room turned out to be his own daughters. Titus was reportedly having marital problems and decided going to Las Vegas for a threesome was a cool way to blow off steam.
