Murray Bruce : The Hottest Part Of Hell Should Be Reserved For Some Governors

Entertainment magnet and Senator-elect for Bayelsa East district, Ben Murray-Bruce over the weekend used his Twitter handle to express his anger over the failure of some state governors to pay workers’ salaries and how lawmakers enrich themselves when the people they represent live in abject poverty.

Noting that he is not going to the Senate for self enrichment as he has much more than he needs, he tweeted that, “I’m going there to serve God by fighting for the good of Nigerians!

“Party politics is money politics. I assure Nigerians I’ll fight for the right of Independent Candidates to run for office in all elections.
“When I see anger in youths on Twitter, I’m inspired to make a change at the Senate. Don’t stop being angry until you see results you want!

“Constitution allows recall of your Rep/Senator at NASS. Tell them if they don’t support reduction in salary/allowances, you’ll consider it,” he posted using his Twitter handle: @benmurraybruce.

Writing about the governors, the Chairman of Silverbird Group wrote, “The hottest place in hell should be reserved for Governors who live large at public expense while workers with children have not been paid!

“While workers in some states, especially Osun and Benue States have been owed for months, their governors reportedly spent hundreds of millions in the past elections. While Governor Gabriel Suswam spent on the senatorial election, Governor Rauf Aregbesola donated towards President-elect Muhammadu Buhari’s success at the polls.
“As far as I’m concerned, until all state workers are paid their salary, no gov, no commissioner, no SA should collect salary or allowance!

Indonesia Jails Russian For 16.5 Years For Drug Smuggling

A Russian woman who smuggled drugs into Indonesia was sentenced to 16.5 years jail Monday, escaping the death penalty just weeks after seven foreign nationals were executed for trafficking narcotics.

Aleksandra Magnaeva, 26, was arrested in December after arriving in Bali on a flight from Hong Kong with 2.1 kilogrammes (4.6 pounds) of crystal methamphetamine stashed in her bags.

“If uncaught, the defendant’s action could have endangered thousands of Indonesian youths,” judge Wayan Sukanila told the Denpasar District Court, adding the sentence was more lenient because she had shown remorse for her crimes.

Under Indonesia law, the maximum penalty for drug trafficking is death.

During questioning Magnaeva said her boyfriend with whom she had been living in China had instructed her to pass the drugs to someone in Bali.

SUSPECT : My Wives Know I'm A Criminal And Not A Kidnapper

A 27-year-old suspected kidnapper, Rasheed Adetunji, who was paraded alongside other suspects, has confessed that his two wives knew he was a criminal and not a kidnapper.

One of his wives had a premonition of his current travails and warned him to stay away from members of his gang.

He regretted that he would miss his wives and family who, he claimed, he was trying to make happy.
On how he joined the kidnapping gang, he said it was Niyi Omosola that introduced and placed him and other members of the gang on an oath administered by a native doctor, known as Baba.

The other suspects are Ifeanyi Chukwuleta, 25, from Oguta in Imo State, and Kolawale Alani, 26, from Ekiti State.

Prison Guard Sexually Assaulted In Arizona

A female guard was sexually assaulted by a male inmate at an Arizona prison in the second such attack on an employee in the last 18 months, corrections officials said.

The April 13 attack at the state prison complex in Yuma was only revealed by the state Department of Corrections late Friday after inquiries by The Associated Press.

When asked why the department didn't acknowledge the attack earlier, corrections spokesman Andrew Wilder said the agency was focused on investigating the assault.

"Our priority is to have a full and thorough investigation of the facts and make sure that is conducted to ensure that justice is served for the victim in the matter," Wilder said.

The assault follows the January 2014 rape of a female teacher at another prison that brought intense criticism of the Arizona prison procedures for safeguarding corrections workers. The bare-bones details of that attack were announced by the department shortly after it occurred, and other inmate assaults on staff often are announced by the department in news releases.

The most recent attack occurred in an office while the corrections officer was meeting with inmate Fernandes Masters, Wilder said.

"The inmate attacked the officer during a scheduled meeting in the housing unit office, and no weapons were involved," Wilder said. "The officer called for assistance, staff in the housing unit immediately responded to the location and pulled the inmate away from the officer and secured him."

Man, Woman Charged With Murdering Two Policemen In Mississippi

A man and woman in Mississippi were arrested and charged with murder on Sunday after two police officers were shot dead a day earlier while conducting a routine traffic stop in Hattiesburg, officials said.

Authorities had launched a manhunt after at least one suspect fled the scene of the shooting in a police car later found abandoned, and residents in the city about 80 miles (130 km) southeast of Jackson were told to stay indoors.

Marvin Banks, 29, and Joanie Calloway, 22, were each charged with two counts of capital murder, police said.

Banks' brother Curtis, 26, was also arrested and charged with two counts of accessory after the fact of capital murder.

Police said a fourth man, identified as Cornelius Clark, was arrested later on Sunday in connection with the case and booked on an obstruction of justice charge.

DuPree said members of the public quickly helped bring to justice those behind the first killing of a police officer in the city for more than 30 years.

"The community helped us," he said, without elaborating. "No parent wants to bury their child before them. And here we are on Mothers' Day. It's a tragedy for all America," he said.

The shooting happened on Saturday evening after Officer Benjamin Deen, 34, stopped a gold Cadillac Escalade, and Liquori Tate, a 25-year-old recent police academy graduate, arrived as backup.

How To Get Rid Of Skin Lumps (Lipomas) Naturally!

Skin lumps usually appear on the head, neck, underarm, waist, shoulder and arm. They are benign growths that can appear at any time. In medicine these growths are often referred to as lipomas.

Lipomas usually appear in one part of the body, but on a regular basis they may appear all over the body, and also cause certain inconveniences.

Researchers still cannot confirm which is the root cause for the occurrence of lipomas, but most of them agree that genetics is an important factor. Many believe that obesity and cholesterol cannot be considered as risk factors.

You  do not have to worry about your lipomas. What is more important, you do not have to worry about using heavy medications or any scalpels running over your skin.

Don’t Expect Too Much From Buhari, Cardinal Okogie Tells Nigerians

The Catholic Archbishop Emeritus, Anthony Okogie, on Sunday urged Nigerians not to expect too much from the president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, saying change is a gradual process. The Catholic Archbishop Emeritus, Anthony Okogie

“Nigeria seems to be on a collision course with destiny and the hopes of many are hanging in the balance. I can understand the sense of urgency and expediency in the expectations of Nigerians,” he said in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos.

“Yet sincerely, I think we are expecting too much too soon. Change will come but it will be gradual but surely.

“It will amount to putting the cart before the horse to expect radical revolution from the General.

“We must exercise patience and give him chance to deliver on his promises. What he needs more than anything is our support, cooperation, collaboration and goodwill,” he said.

The cleric urged Mr. Buhari to focus on providing quality governance on assuming office, and pay less attention to distractions.

He advised the President-elect to adhere to the blueprint and road-map of his party that had brought about growth and development in the states where they had been implemented.

“It is heartening to know that he has made anti-corruption campaign the meter of his administration.

“In order for this not to run out of steam, he must build institutions, both formal and informal, that will fight corruption and ensure Nigeria becomes a society of law abiding citizens.

“His transition team and board of advisers should shun the temptation to secure their selfish interest and come up with pragmatic action plan that will help the president-elect realise his goal,” he said.

The cleric said that the task ahead of the President-elect was enormous and appealed to him to explore available economic and social opportunities in rebuilding the nation.

Nigerian Visa Goes For A Dollar In 13 Countries

While many Nigerians may have known visa fees of different European and American countries, not many take interest in what the country charges other nationals for the document.Nigerian-visa passport

But the fact is that the Nigerian Immigration Service has a long list of the fees on its website, indicating clearly the differences in terms of countries, the visa type and number of entries.

If what the NIS displays on the website is anything to go by, nationals of Mauritania, Monaco, Morroco, New Zealand, Panama, Uruguay, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Burma, Dominican, Chile and Colombia are charged between N100 and N 200 for a single-entry Nigerian visa. For those applying for multiple entries, the fee is multiplied by the number of entries they are seeking.

Weighed against the current exchange rate, it implies that a Nigerian visa is still going for half a dollar or a little above that.

Applicants from the United States are charged the highest. They pay N14,000 for either a single or multiple-entry visa.

Woman Learns She's 8 Months Pregnant After Boyfriend Touches Her Belly And Feels A Kick

A California woman surprisingly discovered that she is 32 weeks pregnant, after her boyfriend felt a kick in her stomach while they were at a concert.

Abby Wake had initially believed that she was just bloated and filled with gas due to her lactose intolerance. The North Hollywood couple had no idea she was pregnant until she went to the doctor, where she found out that her baby is due to arrive in just a few weeks.

Her boyfriend, Jarryd Gorman told CBS Los Angeles, “I felt the baby kick and I looked at her and said, ‘I think you’re definitely pregnant.’ [I said] we need to go see someone straight away.'

Wake says she felt absolutely no symptoms of pregnancy for eight months, and just assumed that she was gaining a little bit of weight. “There weren't anything like kicks and huge movements,” she explained to the site. “It was just like gurgles.”

Emmanuel Adebayor Tells Another Part Of Family Story

In his words:

Here is another part of the story I have kept inside since. Today I feel the constant need to let it out. If I share my stories, it is because I believe every story comes with a lesson. And the lesson is for anyone that is reading this. This is about a brother who keeps saying today that I am not a good support for our family. His name is Rotimi Adebayor. At the age of 13, he did something very bad. He and I know what he did. Because of that our parents had to send him to a village far from the big city. When I started to be successful in football and I went to Togo for vacation; at that time one of my mother’s friend came from the village to visit us. As she explained how Rotimi was suffering in the village, I immediately asked them to bring him back into the city. As soon as he came back, I made sure I put him in school. For me that is normal.

In 2002, I went to play the AFCON in Mali and I had the huge privilege to swap my shirt with Marc-Vivien Foé. May his soul rest in peace. When I got back to Togo, I put that shirt in a secure place. My brother found a way to steal that shirt and sold it.

When I moved from Metz to Monaco, we reached an advanced stage in the Champions League and we played against Real Madrid. It was one of most beautiful day of my life because I was lucky enough to get a signed shirt from the football legend Zinedine Zidane. As I brought that shirt back to Togo, my brother still found a way to steal that shirt and sold it.

When I was in Metz, I was earning about €15,000 a month. I wanted to get something unique for my mom to thank her for all she did for me. I wanted to make her happy. So I decided to take an amount worth 3 months of my wages and I bought her a Cartier neckless for about €45,000. Rotimi and his friends Akim(@Yam Freedom) and Tao (@Sao Tao Oyawole) made a plan and stole that precious neckless. They sold it for about €800. When my mom and I found out, my mother asked me not to bother because he is the younger brother. Despite the situation, I would like to take this same occasion to wish all the mothers out there a Happy Mother’s Day!

In my house, I have a storage room where I keep some of my belongings when I travel back to Europe. I am the only one with that key but my brother managed to get a master key that was able to open every single door in the house. He frequently stole drinks and other items from that room.

After all this we kept saying “blood is thicker than water” and we moved on. Therefore, I decided to take him where I started my football in France. I brought him to a great football academy in France. You already know how this story ended. He stole cellphones from many of his teammates and they sacked him from the football academy. By the way, after I published the first story about him, he called me to say that he did not steal exactly 21 phones. He claimed that the number was lower than that. Still...Is that acceptable? He also added that I should be happy that he stole drinks and other items from my storage room. I asked him why and he replied: "Because I am your brother".

The Ogun State Police Command has uncovered another suspected ritual killers’ den in Unity and Peace Estate along Itele-Lafenwa Road, Ota, in the Ado Odo-Ota Local Government Area of the state.

The discovery was made possible by the escape of a 28yrs old lady, who had been kept in an uncompleted building in the estate, bound hands and feet.

The lady was said to have been abducted, blindfolded, gagged and dumped in the den. She was reportedly told by her captors that they would come for her in the night on Wednesday.

But she managed to struggle to free herself and rolled towards the entrance of the building.

Passersby in the area saw her and came to her rescue. Policemen from the Itele Police Station, who were later invited to the scene, were said to have cordoned off the area.

When the policemen combed the surroundings of the uncompleted building, decomposing bodies of two female victims were said to have been found.

Suspected bones of other victims also littered the place.

70-Year-Old Woman Uses Kidnapped 3-Year-Old For Begging In Kwara

It was drama in Ilorin, yesterday, as Kwara State Police Command  arrested a 70-year-old woman for allegedly kidnapping a three-year-old girl.

She added that the suspect had claimed that she used the proceeds from the alms begging to feed and clothe the girl.

The girl was declared missing on March 25 by her parents, who reside at Old Shao Garage, Ilorin.

Father of the girl was said to have approached a cleric at Ori-Oke. While the search for the girl was on, her grandfather, Mallam Isa, went to the same Ori-Oke to worship and saw the septuagenarian with the missing girl.

Jonathan : Full Text Of Thanksgiving And Farewell Speech

The reality of life has dawned on out-going President Goodluck Jonathan as he lamented, yesterday, that his so-called friends have deserted him having lost the last presidential election to the opposition All progressives CongressAPC, candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari.

Speaking at a thanksgiving and farewell service in his honour at the Cathedral Church of the Advent, Life Camp, Gwarinpa, Abuja, President Jonathan said, however that he expected more of his friends to leave him. The president declared that he was ready to pay the price for his refusal to interfere with the electoral process which he ensured was carried out to its logical conclusion.

He also said his decision to concede defeat at the election did not go down well with some of his ministers and aides and jokingly expressed the hope that his wife, Patience will not follow the example of the wife of former South African Apartheid leader, F W De Klerk, who divorced her husband for his decision to end the minority rule in the Republic of South Africa (RSA).

He then expressed appreciation to Nigeria and Nigerians for giving him the opportunity to serve in various capacities, reiterating his willingness to make the ultimate sacrifice in the interest of the nation.

He said :

“I believe there are reasons for everything. Some hard decisions have their own cost, no doubt about that. I ran the government in such a way that stabilized certain things like the electoral process and other things that brought stability to this country and took very costly decisions which I must be ready to pay for.

“Some people come to me and say ‘look at this person or that person, is he not your friend who benefited from you, has this person not benefited from your government ? Imagine what he is saying’? I often tell them that worse statements will come. If you take certain decisions, you should know that those close to you will even abandon you at some point. And I tell them that more of my so-called friends will disappear.

Bobbi Kristina : No Progress At All

Bobbi Kristina Brown’s grandmother Cissy Houston has revealed that she is “not progressing at all” after apparently emerging from a medically-induced coma last month.

Bobbi Kristina was found unresponsive in a bath at her home in Georgia on 31 January.

Houston told Entertainment Tonight in the US: “She’s the same, she’s not progressing at all.

“She’s not gone yet, but you know, whatever the Lord decides, I’m ready for her … I have nothing to do with that. That’s His job. It’s His territory, you know? And I understand it.”

Bobbi Kristina’s mother Whitney Houston died from accidental drowning in February 2012.

Family friend and gospel singer Kim Burrell said in February that doctors had put Ms Brown in a medically induced coma to stop brain swelling.
