Adoke Begs Nigerians For Forgiveness


The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Bello Adoke, SAN, yesterday, begged Nigerians to forgive him for whatever wrong he committed while discharging the mandate of his office.

The AGF, who tendered his “unreserved apologies” while unveiling the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015 and the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, E.T.C) Act, 2015, which was recently passed into law by the National Assembly, also thanked President Goodluck Jonathan for giving him the opportunity to serve as the chief law officer in the country for five years.

“I tender my unreserved apologies to those who I may have offended in the discharge of my duties,”the AGF pleaded.

Tragedy In Imo As Female Student Stabs Boyfriend To Death


Wonders, they say, shall never end. This translates into what took place at the weekend in a tiny village in Umuawam Ubomiri, in Mbaitoli Local Council of Imo State, when a teenage girl, whose name is yet to be disclosed, an SSS2 student of the famous Akwakuma Girls Secondary School, Owerri, allegedly stabbed to death her erstwhile boyfriend simply known as, Opia, who hails from a neighbouring village, Egbeada, in the same Mbaitoli Local Council of the State.

The corpse of the victim, a source said, has been deposited in a nearby morgue where the incident happened.

Man Shoots Baby Mama Over Bride Price In Onitsha


An ex-vigilante boss identified as Uche (surname withheld) has allegedly killed his girlfriend over a new born baby at the weekend.

Trouble started when the suspect demanded custody of his baby without paying her mother’s bride price and her parents refused to release the baby.

The suspect, who was a security man at her street in GRA, Onitsha, fell in love with the girl before he was sacked from the duty in December 2014.

FG Declares Friday Public Holiday


The Federal Government has announced that Friday, May 29, will be observed as a Public Holiday to celebrate the 2015 Democracy Day. 

The Minister of Interior, Abba Moro, made the declaration on behalf of the federal government in a statement signed yesterday by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Abubakar Magaji. 

In the statement, Moro urged Nigerians at home and diaspora to support the incoming government of Muhammudu Buhari, and pray for the success of Nigeria’s democratic process.

Two Injured As Students Protest At Luth


Pandemonium broke out in the early hours of Sunday, as medical students of the College of Medicine, Lagos University Teaching Hospital, CMUL/LUTH, went on rampage to protest the recurrent incidences of robbery attacks and other malicious attacks on the premises.

Sunday’s incident was the fourth to be experienced in the last 10 months, and was sparked off in the wee hours following an attack unleashed by unknown persons on some students at one of the mosques located next to the outpatient department.

It was gathered that several of the students, under the auspices of the College of Medicine and Pharmaceutical Science Students Association, currently writing their exams, had gone to the mosque to study overnight due to power outage in the hostels and classrooms.

Abandoned Dead Body On Ikotun Road



There is a dead body that has been lying in front of Oando Filling station on Ikotun Road, Ilepo bus stop for about two days now. 

No one knows how it got there or what happened to the man. After the corpse began to swell, some people covered it with a cloth.

Alfa, Prophetess Defraud Bankers Of $30,000



Two staff of a new generation bank (names withheld), simply identified as Temitope and Yusuf, have been allegedly defrauded by an Alfa and a prophetess, identified as Mubarak Abdulahi and Bola Ojo, respectively, in Lagos.

It was gathered that Temitope, a marketer with the bank, met one Ajibola who introduced himself to her as the aide of a renowned politician.

He furthered told her to assist him with the exchange of $30,000 and asked her to bring the money to another bank and collect the Naira equivalent.

She agreed after much persuasion with what she stood to gain from the fast deal, unknown to her that she was dealing with fraudsters.

Policeman Shoots 34-yr-old Man Over N2,000


A mobile policeman in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, has shot a 34-year-old indigene of Bauchi State, Adamu Mohammed, over an argument on N2,000 unpaid fees for a menial job.

According to the family of Mohammed, who resides along the Bay Bridge Road area of Yenagoa, the state capital, the victim was shot last Tuesday at Erepa Road and dumped at the Federal Medical Centre, FMC.

While Mohammed’s family claimed he was shot by the mobile policeman after argument with the woman who engaged him for the clearing of a portion of land close to her home at Erepa Road, residents who claimed to have witnessed the incident, said after the argument with the  woman over the right sum to pay for the job and Mohammed’s squabble with a Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, officer, the policeman shot him in the thigh to demobilize him.

Normal Banking Hours Resumes As Government, Marketers Settle


Banks across the nation have resumed normal banking hours  as the Nigerian Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) and the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) have announced the suspension of the petroleum product strike.
