Reason Osinbajo Was Locked Out Of President Buhari’s Security Meeting


Indications emerged on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 that Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo was ‘locked
out’ of President Muhammadu Buhari’s meeting with the National Security Adviser on the orders of
the President.

A top government source who pleaded anonymity disclosed to that Vice-President Osinbajo was refused ‘security clearance’ to attend the meeting as a result of security concerns by the Commander-in-Chief allegedly over what he described as a “very sensitive meeting”. 

According to the source, it was the thinking of the President that it was too early in the day to bring Vice-President Osinbajo into the President’s first security briefing.

Governor Ambode revealed this sad news to the affected people in a meeting he had with all directors of Lagos State Agencies.

One of those unlucky people that have fallen victims of this action of Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode is Ms. Ronke Azeez. Ronke Azeez was the coordinator of ‘Lagos Eko Project’. ‘Lagos Eko Project’ is a World Bank Assisted Project on Education in Lagos State. Ronke is adjudged by many, particularly by her employer, Babatunde Raji Fashola, very brilliant and innovative. Our source revealed that Gov. Ambode just asked the lady to handover to the next person to her without giving any reason.

Auto Parts Dealer Arrested For Inserting Cocaine In Anus



The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) yesterday arrested Tochukwu Nzom, 46, for allegedly inserting 225 grammes of cocaine in his anus.

He was about boarding an Air France flight to Paris, France at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) in Ikeja, Lagos when he was arrested. He tested positive for narcotics on being screened.

NDLEA airport commander Hamza Umar said two others Henry Idehen and Peter Ilemena were caught with 915 grammes and 1.225 kilogrammes of cocaine while returning from Brazil on an Emirates flight.

Idehen ingested 56 wraps weighing 915 grammes; Ilemena concealed 1.225 kilogrammes of cocaine. The total weight of the drugs seized from the suspects is 2.365 kilogrammes”.

Prostitute Flees With Customer’s Laptop, Phones, N72,000 After Sex In Abuja


A 25-year-old commercial sex worker, Hussaina Hassan of Mpape, Abuja, was arraigned on Friday in a Mararaba Chief Magistrates’ Court, Nasarawa State, for alleged theft.

The accused was alleged to have escaped with the property and money of one Agada Christopher, when they both slept in a hotel room they lodged.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Samuel Okoro told the court that Christopher, of Aso Mararaba, reported the matter at the Abacha Road Police Station, NAN reports.

“On April 29, the complainant lodged with the accused at the Metrino Hotel Mararaba, Nasarawa State.

“When the complainant slept off, the accused made away with his laptop valued at N130,000, LG Tecno phone and Nokia phone all valued at N96,000 and N72,000 cash.

“She took the items without the consent of the complainant’s, thereby contravening Section 288 of the Penal Code,’’ he said.

2 Escape As Bus Crashes Into Drinking Spot At Kubwa

Two persons narrowly escaped being crushed to death at a drinking spot in Phase 2, Site 2 area of Kubwa, a satellite town in the FCT.

A witness said the incident happened around 1.20 a.m. at the popular Yellow Page drinking spot when a bus crashed into where the victims and few others were relaxing.

He said the driver of the bus was trying to avoid hitting a commercial motorcyclist, but lost control and hit a vehicle parked by the road side before veering into the spot.

“The victims had actually finished drinking and were about leaving the place when they were knocked down by the bus, leaving them seriously injured,” he added.

2 Killed As Truck Crashes At Gwagwalada


Two persons lost their lives in a recent accident that occurred near Government Secondary School (GSS) ,Gwagwalada, on the Abuja-Lokoja expressway.

A witness said the accident happened around 2 a.m. when a truck carrying tiles lost control and crashed into a concrete barricade.

He said the driver and the conductor were trapped inside, while one other occupant who sustained injuries was taken to hospital by men of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the area.

Effort to get the reaction of the Gwagwalada unit commander of the FRSC, was not successful, but an official at the command confirmed the accident.

He said two persons, the driver and his conductor, lost their lives in the accident, adding that their corpses have been deposited at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital morgue in Gwagwalada, while those injured were also taking for treatment in the same to hospital. 

NSCDC arrests undergraduate over fake visa deal


A student of the National Open University, Osogbo Study Centre, Olusola Akinlotan, has been arrested by the Osun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps for alleged fraud.

It was learnt that the NSCDC also arrested two other suspects, who were members of a fraud syndicate; Olayiwola Oladayo and Bolarinwa Adebayo, a.k.a. Dodo.

Akinlotan, who was said to have abandoned his studies at the university when he was declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, was, however, arrested on Monday when he approached NOUN to transfer his study centre to another location outside the state.

The suspect and other members of the gang were said to have been engaged in defrauding unsuspecting persons by arranging fake visas and travel documents for them.

15-Year-Old Dies Aborting 5-Month Pregnancy; Lover Docked


A 20-year-old man, Sodiq Sulaimon, yesterday appeared before an Ikeja High Court for allegedly procuring abortion for his 15-year-old lover (names withheld), who died in the process.

The defendant is facing a one-count charge of manslaughter brought against him by Lagos State Government, for which he pleaded not guilty.

“Sodiq Sulaimon, on or before December 11, 2012, about 4p.m., at 7 Oriokuta Street, Imota, Ikorodu Lagos, in the Ikeja Judicial Division, did unlawfully killed girl (names withheld) by procuring abortion for her,” the charge stated.

Houseboy ‘steals’ Ex-Minister Akinyemi’s N11m Watch


For allegedly stealing an N11 million wristwatch from former Minister of External Affairs, Prof. Bolaji Akinyemi, a 29-year-old man Paul Agbota, has been charged to court.

He also allegedly stole other watches and luxury accessories worth N9 million from Akinyemi.

Agbota, a domestic staff of the former minister, is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing at an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.

He pleaded not guilty.
