2 Escape As Bus Crashes Into Drinking Spot At Kubwa

Two persons narrowly escaped being crushed to death at a drinking spot in Phase 2, Site 2 area of Kubwa, a satellite town in the FCT.

A witness said the incident happened around 1.20 a.m. at the popular Yellow Page drinking spot when a bus crashed into where the victims and few others were relaxing.

He said the driver of the bus was trying to avoid hitting a commercial motorcyclist, but lost control and hit a vehicle parked by the road side before veering into the spot.

“The victims had actually finished drinking and were about leaving the place when they were knocked down by the bus, leaving them seriously injured,” he added.

He said they were taken to the Kubwa General Hospital for medical attention.

Reacting, the Kubwa Divisional Police Officer, Chief Superintendent Nurrudeen Sabo, said his men were immediately mobilised to the scene to rescue the victims and forestall any breach to security within the neighbourhood.

The victims have since been discharged from the hospital after receiving treatment
