Ex-Convict Kills Girlfriend And Drives Her Corpse Around For Six Hours

An ex-convict named David Goodell has murdered his girlfriend, Viviana Tulli soon after he was released from jail.

He reportedly tried to cover up his crime by dressing the corpse of his late lover in a hat and sunglasses. He put her in his car and drove her around for a period of 6 hours. While attempting to fake a car accident to fool the police,  Goodell got nabbed.

The death of Viviana Tulli has caused her sister, Stella who is 39-year old some sort of trauma. She narrated how her sister's murderer attempted to get away.

“I wanted to know exactly what had happened to her. The police told me on the day of the crash they had stopped David in a car park and that his wrists were slashed and he was bleeding heavily. They said Viviana was in the passenger seat, with sunglasses and a hat on.

Justice Served! UAE Woman Executed By Firing Squad For Murder Of U.S. Teacher

A woman was today,Monday, July 13, executed in the United Arab Emirates by firing squad for the murder in December of a U.S. school teacher.

The execution was approved by the country’s leader, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the state-run news agency reported.

According to the courts, Ibolya Ryan, 47, was stabbed in a shopping mall toilet by Alaa Al Hashemi, a mother of six.

Al Hashemi was dressed in a traditional black robe, or niqab, and covered from head to foot when she carried out the attack, leading to accusations that she is an Islamic extremist.

However, the incident was captured by security cameras and the case was dealt with under anti-terrorism laws.

Two Witnesses Set To Testify Against Nyako Die Mysteriously - EFCC Reveals

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has told the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja that two key witnesses lined up to testify against the former governor of Adamawa State, Admiral Murtala Nyako, rtd, who has been docked for money laundering charges, have died under mysterious circumstances.

‎The EFCC, via a counter-affidavit that was deposed to by one of its lead Detectives, Adekunle Christopher Odofin, ‎said that the witnesses, Ma’aji Mohammed Iro and Abdulmalik Dalhatu were found dead shortly after they came to its office and ‎testified against the accused former governor.

Late Iro was the then Regional Manager of Zenith Bank Plc, North East, Nigeria‎, and was in charge of the accounts of Adamawa State with the bank.

He was said to have adduced incriminating evidence against Nyako who is answering to a 37-count criminal charge alongside his son, Abdulaziz, a serving Senator.

They are facing trial alongside their alleged accomplices- Zulkifikk Abba and Abubakar Aliyu.

According to an exclusive report on Independent UK, North Korea is accusing the US of spreading the Ebola virus, claiming it has been bent on the development of bio-weapons in order to achieve world supremacy. A report by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) is claiming an aide to ex-President Reagan informed them the US had invented a progenitor of Ebola virus 'for the purpose of launching a biological warfare'.

The aide was named as Roberts, who is alleged to be a reference to Paul Craig Roberts, an econmoist who recently published a blog post entitled ‘Is The US Government The Master Criminal Of Our Time?’ which cited work published by two academics on Ebola.

The article said the US had given $140 million (£89 million) to a pharmaceutical company for research into the virus and chose Africa as a bio-weapon testing ground. It credited this claim to an unnamed Liberian professor.

A man in his mid-40s identified as Steve Nwani, has allegedly bathed his aged mother with a liquid substance suspected to be concentrated acid.

The incident occurred last weekend, at Ahima in Alisimie-Agbor in Ika South local government area of Delta State.

A relaible source close to the family and privy to the matter, stated that Nwani, who is a plumber had accused his mother of being responsible for his misfortunes in life.

A devout Christian of Baptist denomination, the plumber was said to have been facing some challenges in life in recent times which he attributed to his mother.

The source added that the acid victim was immediately rushed to an undisclosed medical facility for treatment where she was said to be responding to treatment.

Jail-Break: Boko Haram Attacks Prison in Niger to Free Imprisoned Members

A group of people suspected to be Boko Haram militants have raided a prison in the southern Niger town of Diffa, late on Saturday.

Mlitary sources said, in an apparent bid to free fellow members of the Nigerian Islamist group held there.

Three of the assailants and one soldier were killed before the attack was repelled, the sources said.

'When the attack was repelled, the assailants fled, probably back into the town,' one military source said. 'We are searching for them.'

A second military source said the attackers may have been residents of Diffa, as no one had seen them enter the town.

Woman Bites Off Husband's Genitals For Sleeping With Her Friend

A pepper seller identified as Mama Bose, in the Mushin axis of Lagos state, has bitten her husband’s genitals for allegedly having an affair with her friend.

It was gathered that Mama Bose’s former friend, Mama Sunday, sells fish beside her in Oshodi market.

According to reports, about 10am on that fateful day, the fish seller claimed she had an emergency which required her prompt attention, making her leave Mama Bose, the pepper seller in the market to help her sell her wares.

Unknown to Mama Bose, it was her husband that invited his secret lover to their home, along Agege Motor Road, Mushin.

Mama Bose however arrived home few hours later to find her supposed friend on their matrimonial bed with her husband.

An eyewitness said: “The husband tried to beg her not to raise the alarm but she was so enraged to placated. Instead, she looked for an object to smash on their heads. Papa Bose held his wife’s hands and told her rival to wear her clothes and escape. Mama Bose bit him in the hand but the woman managed to escape in wrapper and blouse, leaving her undies behind.

Ban Of Street Begging : Kaduna Beggars Protests, Gives Ultimatum & Set For Lawsuit Againt Government

Kaduna State beggers joined by their children over the weekend, threatened to sue the governor of the state, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai over the ban on their activities as they reportedly gave the state a 3-day ultimatum to rescind its decision.

The beggers disclosed that their threatened legal action is to protest against what they termed 'violation of their rights to life and defamation of character', and that the government was indirectly referring to them as 'terrorists,' because the government's declaration on their ban was made after the bomb blast in Zaria.

They also threatened that after the expiration of the ultimatum, they would return to the streets to continue their normal business and insisted that the ban on their activities was a wrong step in the wrong direction.

During the protest on Saturday, one of the beggars, Abdullahi Jugunu, said they were merely expressing their rights to fair hearing.

"We are not deterred by the government ban. We are giving the state a three-day ultimatum to reverse its decision. After three days, if nothing happens from the side of government, we will have no choice than to come to the street for our normal business."

Oritsefemi's camp has denied speculations linking the 'double wahala' singer to the mental illness that reportedly struck his former manager, Danku, shortly after they parted ways on a sour note. 

'Double Wahala' singer, Oritsefemi has denied been behind the misfortune that befell his erswhile manager, Adebola Yusuf Adepitan aka Danku.

The once fruitful relationship between the duo turned sour when the singer accused his manager of not properly managing the release and sale of his last album, Money Stop Nonsense. He also reportedly accused Danku of taking one of his expensive cars without his permission and crashed it.

According to Africanfootball, an official of the Nigeria Football Federation has revealed the late moves by Austin Jay Jay Okocha to become the Assistant Coach to the soon to be unveiled Sunday Oliseh.

The source said Okocha reached out to some top officials to propose himself as assistant coach to Oliseh.

3 Nigerians Who Hacked US Bank Accounts Arrested By Police In UAE

According to reports on Yahoo News, The United Arab Emirates police authorities have arrested three Nigerians who allegedly hacked into US bank accounts. The trio were arrested following a tip-off from police in California about cyber-criminal activity based in the UAE.

The report further states:

"They allegedly targeted individuals and institutions in the United States by hacking their emails and accounts to steal private documents and details.

They were apprehended along with the tools of the crime including electronic devices; financial remittance documents; hacking software; bank accounts; and a list of more than 5 million electronic bank accounts targeted by the gang.

All OAU Students To Vacate School Premises

Students of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife have been asked to vacate the university.

The management of the University after its emergency senate meeting held on Sunday came to the conclusion, PUNCH reports.

It was gathered that the closure, which was tagged as ‘mid-semester break’ was connected to the continuous protest by workers under the aegis of Non Academic Staff Union, OAU chapter.

It will be recalled that the workers, who started with a warning strike on July 1, alleged that they have not been paid their hazard allowances for about 64 months.

When contacted, the University Public Relations Officer, Mr. Biodun Olarewaju, explained that the university declared a ‘mid semester break’ not closure.

Raped 14-Year Old Girl In Abia Commits Suicide Out Of Trauma

A teenage girl based in Abia state was brutally gang-raped by 3 men that left her in a pool of blood. She was terribly haunted by the ordeal of her rape that she hung herself on a guava tree. 

According to the Sun, a 14-year old girl named Chiawolam Comfort Umeh took her own life on the 7th of July after she was brutally raped by some dare-devil men that numbered up to 3 on the 28th Of June.

The crime was reportedly committed at Iyienyi Village, near Okwoyi Community, in Isieke, Ibeku, in Umuahia North LGA of Abia State.

Chiawolam’s father, Mr Umeh said that early in the morning that Tuesday, her mother called her to find out how she was raped and she complained that she was having pains all over her body. The mother told her to endure till they come back from the police station that morning, but unknown to them, the deceased had another plan.

“She took her jacket and what we later discovered was a scarf and left, warning that nobody should mention her name. We thought she was going to the toilet,” the distraught father said.

Security Guard Prevents Mass Casualty From Jos Church Explosion

A security guard on Sunday averted what would have been a high casualty from a bomb planted at a church in Plateau State.

The incident which occurred at ECWA church in Tudunwa, Angwan yashi, near the Federal Secretariat in Jos did not have any casualty, thanks to the bravery of the guard who was said to have picked the bomb and thrown it far off from the church premises.

Although the guard sustained injuries on the leg and was rushed to the hospital, the police confirmed that nobody had been killed in the Sunday attack.

A witness present reports that upon arrival, police anti-bomb unit discovered one more bomb planted in the restroom of the church.

Plateau police spokesman Abuh Emmanuel was quoted as saying, “Experts have been sent there immediately to ascertain those who planted the explosion, and possibly, the manufacturers of the device. But I was told no one died in the incident.”

The tragedy comes shortly after the July 5 twin explosion in Jos, which claimed dozens of lives.

A week ago a church on the outskirts on Potiskum, Yobe state, was attacked.

Nigerian Students In The UK To Be Banned From Working And Forced To Leave When Their Course Ends

Foreign students are to be banned from working in Britain under a fresh crackdown on immigration ordered by Home Secretary Theresa May. When their courses finish, they will have to leave the country before reapplying to return for a job.

Ministers say the new rules, which will apply to all those from outside the European Union, will stop colleges being used as a 'back door to a British work visa'.

Official figures show that 121,000 non-EU students entered the UK in the 12 months to June last 

year, but only 51,000 left – a net influx of 70,000. The government also estimates that the number of foreign students coming to the UK will rise by more than 6 per cent a year up to 2020. Home Secretary Theresa May has taken action against 870 bogus colleges, banning them from taking foreign students.

They want to stop student visas being used as an easy way to enter the UK before getting a job and claiming benefits. Under the new rules, non-EU students will be denied the right to work while in the UK and will not be able to apply for a visa extension when their course finishes.

Students will have to leave the country before applying to return under a work visa.

LASTMA Official, Who Slumped On Traffic Duty, Has Died

An official of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, who slumped while controlling traffic on Ishaga Road in the Idi-Araba, Mushin area on Saturday, has died.

The official, Kazeem Lawal, was brought in dead to the Randle Hospital, Surulere, where his colleagues had rushed him.

The official, who was among LASTMA officials on duty for an event at the Chapel of the Healing Cross, last Saturday had collapsed at about 1.30pm. It was also reported that Lawal, who was gasping for breath, was rushed to a hospital after he did not respond to preliminary treatment.

However, Lawal, who was attached to LASTMA Zone 3, Iponri, died on the way to the hospital.

The matter was said to have been reported at the Alakara Police Division.

One of the colleagues of the deceased, who spoke to Punch on condition of anonymity, said:

Woman Cuts Neighbour’s Throat During Argument In Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a woman, Helen Okeke, who allegedly killed her neighbour, identified only as Rose, in the Ikota, Ajah area of the state.

PUNCH Metro learnt that Okeke slit Rose’s throat after the duo reportedly had an argument over who poured urine on the latter’s clothes that were spread on the entrance door to her room.

The incident occurred at about 5pm last Wednesday in the Ikota Housing Estate, Ikota Second Gate area.

Rose, who was reportedly preparing for her wedding, had returned from work in the afternoon, and noticed a foul smell on the clothes spread on her door.

It was learnt that the deceased went to the landlady, Alhaja Iyabo Hamzat, to report the matter. The 

landlady was said to have pacified her, offering to give her the money to buy some detergent to wash the clothes.

But after some minutes, other neighbours, however, heard Rose’s sudden cry for help in the corridor. The suspect was said to have been found holding the deceased by the neck, with a bloodstained kitchen knife in her hand.

This family's jolly ride yesterday ended on a bloody note.

Mr. Okechukwu Odinigwe, his wife and eldest son died when a trailer rammed into their car at Esther Obiakor Junction, Agu Awka on the Onitsha-Enugu Expressway between noon and 1pm.

Their six–month-old baby boy, his brother and sister, aged four and seven, were injured and rushed to Regina Caeli Hospital in Awka by Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officials, where doctors were battling to save their lives.

OAU To Be Shut Down Today

The disruption of academic, administrative and economic activities as a result of the demonstrations of the members of the Non Academic Staff Union, NASU OAU over their unpaid accumulated 64 months allowances may lead to the closure of the university anytime from Monday, July 13.

The Students’ Union president, Akande Omotayo a.k.a TY addressing the journalists yesterday confirmed his knowledge of the campus situation and has said the Union is observing events critically. The president has said he is waiting till Monday when a Congress of students will be called to determine on shutting down the university if the current situation of inconvenience persists. According to the Union leader, the implication of the Students’ Union shutting the university clearly means that only the Union can re-open it upon recommendations by leaders to her members.

TY further expressed displeasure over the hardship students have been subjected by the fight between NASU and the management. He described the polluted environment of the university as students sitting on ‘time bomb’ as endemic can break out any moment from now.

“As a Students’ Union leadership, what we have to do is to try to ensure our students do not suffer for what they have to suffer for... Our solidarity with NASU is not only based on principle but also based on ameliorating the poor welfare conditions of our students.

Operatives of Vigilante Group of Nigeria, VGN, Ebutte Metta chapter, have rescued a 12-year-old girl (names withheld), who was battered by her father in Lagos.

It was gathered that the victim was found in critical condition at Oyingbo market, Ebute- Metta, following beatings she allegedly received from her father.

A close family source said: “The victim, a Junior Secondary School, JSS, 1 student with the Canal Secondary School, Orile, Lagos State, would have died from the wound she sustained after her father flogged her with barbed wire, but for the intervention of vigilante members, who found her writhing in pains in the dead of the night.”

It was learned that Kafayat was rushed to Star Clinic, Ebutte-Metta, where she is receiving treatment from the wound she sustained all over her body.

Narrating how she incurred the wrath of her father, the girl said: “I live with my parents at 4, Kuforiji Street Orile, Lagos.

Truck Crushes Couple, Son In Anambra

A man, wife and their eldest son were, yesterday, crushed to death in an accident involving their ash coloured Toyota Camry and a container-bearing truck at Agu Awka end of Enugu-Onitsha expressway.

The family’s six-month-old baby boy, his four-year-old brother and seven-year-old sister, who survived, were in very critical condition and are receiving treatment at the Regina Caeli Hospital, Awka.

At press time, the wrecked remains of the family’s car were still beneath the truck, with many sympathizers wailing and cursing the truck driver.

An eyewitness told Vanguard that the driver of the truck, with number plates LSR 897XQ, ran away immediately the incident occurred.

According to the eyewitness, when people noticed the high speed with which the truck was moving, they started waving, trying to slow him down.

Idiroko Customs Intercepts Poultry Products Worth N4.3m

The Nigerian Customs Service, NCS, Headquarters Monitoring Team, Idiroko axis, at the weekend, said it has intercepted 810 cartons of frozen poultry products worth N4, 374, 000.

The team Coordinator, Deputy Comptroller Yahaya Usman, said the seizure will be destroyed in a designated site at the NCS premises, Ikeja under the watch of critical agencies of government including NAFDAC.

While displaying the seized goods, Usman said his team has an effective  collaboration with the residents of the area, as units and commands of the Customs remain committed  to totally eradicating the menace of smuggling.
