Nude Cyclist Removed By Police After Complaints He Was ‘Aroused’


Police were forced to intervene in a naked cycling event, after reports one of the riders got ‘overexcited’.

The ‘aroused’ cyclist was pulled aside and put his jeans back on before being spoken to by officers.

Organisers of the World Naked Bike Ride (WNBR) said the rider was removed before the ride started in Canterbury, Kent, on Saturday.

The naked rides, which take place in cities and towns around the world, are organised to highlight the dangers cyclists face from cars.

Participants are permitted to cycle naked but must adhere to strict rules.

One witness said: “Everyone was taking their clothes off to get ready for the ride. I heard gasps and I turned around, it was a horrible sight.

Nasarawa Chief Judge Pardons 16 Inmates


The Chief Judge of Nasarawa State, Justice Suleiman Dikko, on Monday granted pardon to 16 inmates awaiting trial in Lafia Prison. Dikko pardoned the inmates in Lafia Prison during a four-day tour of prisons across the state. Out of the 16 inmates released, 12 were released out rightly, while four were granted bail on self recognition.

The inmates released are: Mohammed Saleh, Mamman Adamu, David Danjuma, Abdullahi Inusa, Adamu Zakari, Useni Saidu, Ruwa Uamaru, Mustapha Obeka, Jibrin Ismalia, Emmanuel Rabo, Sunday James and Nathaniel Abi. Those granted bail on self recognition include; Musa Halidu, Yakubu Musa, Yusuf Haruna and Aliyu Yusuf.

Landlord Assaults Couple While Sleeping


A 43-year-old landlord, Dayo Ajayi, appeared before a Surulere Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, charged with assault on a couple while they were sleeping.

The accused, who resides at No.14, Kelani St., Surulere, Lagos state, is facing a two-count charge of burglary and assault.

The Prosecutor, Cpl. Gbenga Salami, told the court that the accused committed the offences at 11.20 a.m., on March 13 at his residence.

He said that the accused forcefully broke the door and entered into the couple’s apartment because they owed him house rent.

The prosecutor added that, “After breaking into the apartment, the accused hit the couple’ back and fingers with broken bottles when they were sleeping and ordered them to pack out of his house that night.

Housekeeper Bolts With Employer’s N4.6m Jewellery


For allegedly stealing her employer’s jewellery valued at N4.6 million, a 23-year-old housekeeper, Idowu Adeyeye, was on Monday brought before an Abule-Egba Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.

The accused, who lives with her employer at Ijaiye Medium Housing Estate, a suburb of Lagos, is facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, stealing and causing a breach of peace.

The prosecutor, Insp. Racheal Williams told the court that the offences were committed on May 28 at his employer’s residence.

According to her, the accused with others still at large stole jewellery valued at N4.6 million, property of the complainant, Mrs Titilayo Ogundipe.

NYSC DG Wants Killers Of Corps Member Brought To Book


NYSC Director-General, Brig.-Gen. Johnson Olawumi has called on security agencies in Kwara to unveil the killers of a serving corps member, Miss Yetunde Idowu. Olawumi made the call on Monday in Ilorin when a delegation of NYSC officials visited Director of the State Security Service, Commissioner of Police and Emir of Ilorin on the death of the corps member.

Represented by the director, Corps Welfare and Inspectorate, NYSC Headquarters, Mr Michael Ahile, the DG also appealed to security agents to fish out the killers and bring them to book.

“The DG has delegated us to come to Ilorin and discuss with security agencies and traditional institutions to unveil the circumstances surrounding the death of the corps members,” Ahile said.
Idowu, 27, who was until her death doing her primary assignment at Radio Kwara, Ilorin, was killed by unknown assailant on May 23. An indigene of Ayetoro in Ogun, she graduated from Moshood Abiola Polytechnics with HND Management. Mr Ahile said NYSC management received the death of the corps member with heavy heart, particularly the circumstances surrounding her death.

Recycling Center Looking For Woman Who Left Rare $200,000 Apple I Computer


She doesn't know it yet, but an unidentified Bay Area woman has a $100,000 check waiting for her.

A local recycling center is searching for a woman who dropped off an extremely rare Apple I computer, and then left without providing her contact information. The facility later sold the computer for $200,000, and is now looking for the mystery woman, so they can split the money.

The woman dropped off several boxes in early April, and said she was cleaning out her garage after her husband recently died, San Jose Mercury News reported. CleanBayArea, the Milpitas, California, facility that accepted the items, had a backlog of donations at the time, and didn't go through the woman's boxes until two weeks later, according to the newspaper.

16-Year-Old Nigerian Footballer Slumps And Dies on The Pitch in Ireland


Shetemi Ayetigbo, a 16 year old Nigerian midfielder who plays for Belvedere Football Club in Dublin, Ireland slumped and died while playing in a league match at the St Kevin’s Boys Football grounds yesterday May 31st.

An eyewitness while narrating what happened to Mirror UK, said Shetemi suddenly slumped and died while playing with his mates.

“There was no incident, any attack. The young lad was playing, and he just dropped on the pitch. It was around 25 to 30 minutes into the game. A number of people rushed to his side straight away to give him first aid, as there was a defibrillator at the grounds. An ambulance came, and paramedics tried to treat him there. But he couldn’t be saved. They then took his body to the hospital. The match was cancelled.

Everyone was in shock. The young players, staff, and supporters had never witnessed anything like that on a football pitch. There were a good few people watching the match because it was the last game of the season.”.

Couple Arrested For Selling “Golden Tickets To Heaven”


A married couple in Florida, Tito and Amanda Watts, were arrested a few days ago for selling “golden tickets to heaven” to hundreds of people.

They sold the tickets on the street for $99.99 per ticket, told buyers the tickets were made from solid gold, and that each ticket reserved the buyer a spot in heaven — simply present the ticket at the pearly gates and you’re in.

69 Die, 15 Vehicles Burnt In Onitsha Petrol Tanker Fire


Onitsha the Southeast’s commercial capital, was thrown into mourning yesterday as no fewer than 50 persons were burnt to death from the fire that broke out after a fuel-laden tanker rammed into a building.

At least 15 L300 buses were also burnt. The tragedy occurred at about 3pm at Upper Iweka Roundabout when the tanker conveying fuel to Asaba in Delta State fell and got burnt.

Governor Willie Obiano, who rushed to the scene, was moved to tears.

The burnt buses were parked inside the motor park. Three motorcycles were also burnt.

Residents gathered at the scene, crying as rescue efforts were ongoing.

Why Buhari Didn’t Make Assets Public : Aides


Aides of President Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday, explained why the president did not declare his assets publicly. They said he will make his assets known to Nigerians within the first 100 days of his stay in power in line with his assertions before the election.

Meanwhile, there were mixed reactions, yesterday, on the report that the president and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo had submitted their assets declaration to the Code of Conduct Bureau without immediately making them public.

A civil rights group, Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP, argued that it was imperative for the duo to make public their assets. It said the action will indicate “their desire and commitment to ending corruption in the country.”

Dismissed Army Officer Nabbed For Robbery, Impersonation


Police in Lagos have arrested a member of a suspected robbery gang that usually wore military camouflage while robbing unsuspecting private and commercial vehicles trapped in traffic around Mile 2, Festac, Alakija and its environs. 

Police sources said it was discovered that the suspect was a dismissed soldier. He was said to have been dismissed from the Nigerian Army over unethical conduct.

The 43-year-old suspect, identified as Adokie Tombra, revealed that he wore Army camouflage to evade paying fare each time he boarded commercial vehicles. It was gathered that Tombra was apprehended by policemen attached to Festac Division, in full Military regalia, while members of his gang were attempting to escape after a robbery operation.

Police Arrest Suspected Rapists Of 6-year-old


Police in Benin have arrested two of the three persons alleged to have raped a 6-year-old girl at a primary school in the city. Police at Aideyan disclosed that they were on the trail of one of the suspects, while the two arrested suspects were currently in detention.

The incident occurred last week and the family of the victim appealed to the police and the state government to arrest the suspects after they fled their homes.

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian and rapper Kanye West are expecting their second child.

The news was revealed in a video clip about upcoming episodes of "Keeping Up With The Kadashians," the E! reality show.

"I just got the blood test back, and i am pregnant," Kardashian 34 tells her sister Khloe, who responded with a scream of delight. 

The video also shows Kardashian looking at an ultrasound during a doctor's appointment.

Kardashian and West, 37, already have a daughter North, who will turn 2 on June 15.
