57-year-old Jessica Steindorff has sued Caitlyn Jenner for carelessness and negligence over a fatal car accident which occurred in February, 2015.
The former Olympian, then known as Bruce Jenner before her gender transition and at the time of the accident, has been sued for over $25,000 in compensatory and punitive damages by the woman whose Prius was involved in the pile-up on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu.
According to documents filed in Los Angeles on Monday, June 8, Jessica claims she suffered loss of wages and earning capacity, as well as hospital and medical expenses, and is demanding over $25,000 in compensation. Bruce Jenner, now known as Caitlyn Jenner, was named as the defendant but the court papers didn’t state the nature or extent of the talent manager’s injuries, TMZ reports.
The duo, who allegedly ‘had virtually no relationship’ with their stepmother, accused Caitlyn of being ‘careless and negligent’ and of speeding when the accident happened. They are seeking damages for loss of affection.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is still investigating the crash, but law enforcement sources previously claimed Caitlyn was driving below the speed limit. Police officers, who obtained video footage of the collision, believe the star simply wasn’t looking when she hit Kim’s Lexus which also collided with Jessica’s car and it is unlikely she will be prosecuted.
