The police in Delta State have arrested one person in connection with the killing of a vigilance team member at Olomoro in Isoko South Local Government Area.
The deceased, popularly known as ‘Oyibo’, was last month allegedly clubbed to death by three suspected cultists, a development which sparked violent outrage in the community.
It would be recalled that some houses belonging to members of the assailants’ families were set ablaze in a reprisal attack by an angry mob in the community.
Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State police command, Celestina Kalu, who confirmed the arrest, said the police was on top of the matter.
She said the arrest was in continuation of the ongoing investigation into cases of murder and arson. Until his death, the deceased was renowned for his anti-cultism activities in the community.
