Another attempt to bomb Jos area (Jos South LGA), Plateau state, was averted on Tuesday, July 14, as cautious office assistant of a magistrate court in Bukuru alerted the police.
According to Premium Times, in the early hours of Tuesday, residents and witnesses narrated that an office clerk had averted tragedy by spotting the explosive device in an envelope
Abuh Emmanuel, Jos police public relation officer, confirmed that the device had been discovered. He, however, commended the employee who found it and informed the police.
The clerk, who spoke on condition of anonymity, disclosed that she had spotted a big envelope behind her boss' door, with some electrical installations inside. She immediately turned to the court security personnel members who identified the items as an explosive timed to detonate.
The police anti-bomb squad was called to defuse and evacuate the device.
