Nigeria have improved in the August world rankings released by FIFA yesterday. The country moved from the 57th spot to 53rd, but that move did not reflect on the
Algeria, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Tunisia, Senegal, Cameroon, Congo, Cape Verde Island and Egypt and Nigeria make up the African top ten.
In July’s grading, the Super Eagles dropped 14 places to 57th – their poorest drop in 2015.
Argentina despite losing the final of the Copa America to Chile are world number one, While Germany, Belgium, Colombia, Brazil, Portugal, Romania, England Wales and Chile make the top ten.
Likely Nigeria opposition in the second round of the 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifiers, Swaziland and Djibouti are placed 132nd and 206th respectively in the world.
