Nigerian Man Allegedly Beats His Mother To Death In Texas, USA (Photos)

A 61-year old professor of languages, and mother of four, Hauwa Esther Kadima, was bartered to death at her home in Longview, Texas, on July 28th.

Her last child, 31 year old Daniel Kadima (left) has been arrested in connection with her death.

Police was called to her home on July 28th and found her beaten to death - a bloody chair was lying next to her body.

Police believe it was the murder weapon. She had fractures to her skull with laceration of the brain because of blunt impact to the head, according to autopsy findings.

Daniel, who had called police to report a person lying dead in the apartment, was arrested the next day.

Former first lady of Nigeria, Dame Patience Jonathan, has caused tension in Bayelsa State in anticipation of the forthcoming governorship election.

Sun news online reports that Patience is reportedly making moves to hijack the Bayelsa state chapters of the  Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress, (APC) in order to select and enforce a candidate of her choice for the election.

According to Sun reports, a group simply known as the ‘Forum For Political Freedom in Bayelsa State’ (FOPOF) blamed Patience for using unlawfully acquired wealth to deeply fund and create a power bloc in the APC in the state, using members of the defunct Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria whom she similarly used to weaken the leadership of the opposition party in the state in the period leading up to the last presidential poll which her husband lost.

Hundreds Of African Migrants Die After Boat Capsized In The Mediterranean Sea (Photos)

According to recent reports, hundreds of men, women and children lost their lives on Wednesday, August 5, after a rubber fishing boat carrying around 600 migrants capsized.

Reports revealed that the boat capsized when the people on board rushed to one side when the LE Niamh got close to it.

"Those that were on deck would have managed to jump, some of them drowned and some of them were saved," said Martin Xuereb of the Migrant Offshore Aid Station in Malta.

Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) Dignity I vessel was one of the rescue boats.

"It was a horrific sight, people desperately clinging to lifebelts, boats and anything they could to fight for their lives," (MSF) project co-ordinator said.

Below is how she narrated her ordeal;

A lot of things happen to people at the University of Lagos but we only get to hear a few of these things or we may not even hear about these things at all. For about a month, I have been taking photography classes at Yaba. On the 4th of August, my photography coach fixed our class at the Sports Centre at the University of Lagos.

I drove into the premises at about 2pm. Meanwhile, a sporting event organized by MTN took place at the sports centre that same day. After my class at about 5pm, I got to the car park and discovered that my car had been burgled with three of the glass wand down. My camera bag containing 2 lenses, 64gig memory card, batteries, camera cable, blackberry Q10, another bag containing my wallet, notepads, GTB ATM card, ID card, voters card, money , drivers Licence were all stolen from the car.

I also discovered that my car key could not lock the door. The security guards at the sports centre referred me to their security office where I made a statement. After I narrated my ordeal, one of the security officer said 'You're lucky they didn't go with your car'. I was also asked to report the case at the Sabo police station. When I narrated what happened to the officer in charge of the case at the station, he made me understand that this isn't the first time people would report cases of theft to them.

Pastor Madaristo Ranch, the General Overseer of a Zimbabwean church, Living Word Ministries, has been arrested after he beheaded his pregnant wife, Pamela Muzondi, with a kitchen knife and hiding the corpse in a bowl in the bedroom.

After his abominable act, he calmly went to his church and conducted the service before fleeing towards the Mozambican border. He was arrested before he could skip into the neighbouring country.

His wife's dead body was discovered by relatives five days after he murdered her. There was suspecting ritualistic tendencies because her eyes and heart were missing while her stomach was also cut open and the fetus removed.

My Husband Is Sexually Weak - Wife Tells Judge

A woman has prayed a Lagos court to end her marriage of 8 years as a result of her husband's inability to satisfy her sexually. 

According to The Nation, a 39-year-old fashion designer, Mrs Farotimi Titilayo, has appealed to a Lagos Customary Court sitting in Ikorodu to dissolve her eight-year-old marriage over alleged neglect and sexual denial by her husband.

The 39-year-old, who resides at Nosiru Street, Eyita in Ikorodu area of the State told the court that her husband identified as Amos, denies her sex before they both separated.

She said:

“My husband was sexually imbalance before I left him in 2011; I reported him to his family but they pleaded on his behalf.

An armwrestler, Jeff Dabe, with 19 inch (49cm) forearms has earned himself the nickname Popeye from fans as he travels America competing to become the world champion.

His monster forearms measure 19 inches (49cm) in circumference, with the strongman's hands big enough to fit a basketball in each hand.

Tests have been conducted to discover what makes Jeff's arms so large, as family photographs show he was born with over-sized limbs.

Having looked for signs of gigantism and elephantiasis, the University of Minnesota concluded that there were no signs of the disease or abnormalities.

He said: "I arm wrestled as a senior in high school. The fans way back then were the ones that named me Popeye."

The Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of Zone 2 of the Nigeria Police Force based at Onikan, Lagos, has arrested an armed robbery gang. A member of the gang confessed to the police that becoming an Indian hemp (Cannabis Sativa) smoker led him into violent crime.

32-year old Chukwuemeka says he was introduced into armed robbery after he joined Indian hemp smokers in Ajegunle. The suspect and three other members of his gang were arrested on July 23 at the popular surburb, while on their way for an operation to snatch a Toyota car when luck ran out on them.

Chukwuemeka confesses...

"I regret joining Indian hemp smokers. I am a commercial bus driver, but every evening after work, I go to Bola area of Ajegunle to smoke hemp.

I met our gang leader, simply identified as Ogaga at the smoking joint. We exchanged telephone numbers. And one Sunday, he called me to meet him at Bola that there was a business. I left church after Sunday service to meet Ogaga. While at the place, he told me that there is one Alhaji that we will work for and get paid  When I heard the title Alhaji, I thought he was a politician.

Eating Spicy Food 3 Times A Week Reduces The Risk Of Early Death From Cancer Or Heart Disease

People who eat spicy food every day have a lower risk of an early death, research suggests. Scientists found that spicy food was linked to fewer deaths from cancer, heart disease and breathing problems.

A study of nearly 500,000 middle-aged people found that those who ate a spicy meal every one or two days were far less likely to die than those who infrequently ate the food. Scientists suspect that capsaicin — a chemical contained in chili peppers, has anti-obesity, antioxidant, anti-inflammation and cancer fighting properties.

The research, published in the British Medical Journal, was based on a study of 487,000 Chinese people, each aged between the ages of 30 and 79. Each participant was questioned about their general health and eating habits, and then tracked over the following seven years, in which time 20,224 of them died.

The researchers, from Oxford University, Harvard School of Public Health in the US and the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, found that people who ate spicy food every one or two days were 14 per cent less likely to die than those who ate it less than once a week.
