An Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos has remanded
a 37-year-old man, Sunday Obadele, in prison custody for allegedly hacking to
death a 63-year-old man.
The Magistrate, Mrs. O.I. Adelaja, ordered the accused to be
kept behind bars at Ikoyi Prisons pending advice from the state Director of
Public Prosecutions (DPP).
The accused is facing a two-count charge of murder and
conspiracy.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Inspector Richard Odigie, told the
court that the offences were committed on February 17 at 1.30 p.m. at No. 16,
Araromi Street, Oto-Awori area of Ijanikin.
“The duo had a heated argument which led to a fight between
Obadele and the deceased, Amuda Abudo.
Odigie said the offences contravened Sections 221 and 231 of
the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The case has been adjourned till June 12.
