A 19-year-old mother, Johnesha Monae Perry, has been charged
for the murder of her 20-month-old baby son, Zymeir Perry, after she threw him
off a bridge at Lehigh River, Pennsylvania, USA, before jumping off the 52-foot
bridge into the river herself, reports the Mirror.
Police reports that the apparently troubled teenager had
kissed the boy on the railings of the bridge before pushing him over and
jumping too in a case of suicide mother but the toddler was rescued by a police
officer who found him 700 yards away, floating downstream, and performed
mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
Witnesses said that Perry had managed to walk to shore
before collapsing, while Allentown police Officer Joseph Ianetta pulled Zymeir
from the river and performed mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
The Allentown police had charged Perry with attempted
homicide before the baby’s death and with his death, has amended the charge to
murder.
