Buhari Is Already Becoming A Dictator - PDP Warns

The opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Thursday, July 16, implored the international community to call President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to order.

According to the PDP, the APC is practising what it described as the draconian and authoritarian rule by the present government.

The PDP, also stated emphatically that it’s opposition to the appointment of Mrs Amina Zakari as the acting Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), is unwavering, and will not accept any election conducted under her watch, in which the PDP might be declared the loser.

Olisa Metuh, National Publicity Secretary of the PDP who made the observations on behalf of the party during visits to the National Democratic Institute (NDI) and International Republican Institute (IRI) in Abuja, said PDP won’t accept any election conducted by the “daughter” of the president.

In accusing the president of dictatorship and arm-twist of opposition, the PDP spokesman decried Buhari’s style of leadership as he accused the president of sidelining  governors of the opposition on national issues.
He added that that under the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, governors from the opposition parties were taken along even when travelling out of the country on international engagements.

He raised the alarm that President Buhari is working very hard to silence the opposition by harassing, muscling and intimidating them.

“I want to alert the international community on issues and if they are not handled very well may truncate our democracy. We have witnessed a remarkable change in the past few days," he said.
