Hulk Hogan Asks For Forgiveness Over Racist Slur, Quits WWE

One of wrestling's most iconic figures, Terry Bollea better known as Hulk Hogan has pleaded for forgiveness for the racist remarks he made.

His plea for forgiveness comes on the heels of reports that he used racist slurs during a conversation about eight years ago.

He has also followed his public plea with an announcement that he is resigning from his contractual relationship with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

"Eight years ago I used offensive language during a conversation", Hogan tells Us Weekly. "It was unacceptable for me to have used that offensive language; there is no excuse for it; and I apologize for having done it. I believe very strongly that every person in the world is important and should not be treated differently based on race, gender, orientation, religious beliefs or otherwise. I am disappointed with myself that I used language that is offensive and inconsistent with my own beliefs. It is not who I am. I continue to work every day to improve as a person, and this matter is an important learning experience for me in that regard. As a result I am resigning from my contractual relationship with the WWE", the 61-year-old wrestler, who made his debut in 1977 and remains one of the best-known names in the industry, said on Friday.

Residents of Oyo-Ode area of Ede in Osun State are living in constant fear of attack from criminals whose targets are the children living in the area. Although Zainab and her sister, Aishat, who is just seven years old, were intelligent enough to bolt the door as soon as their mother left, this still could not save them from the criminal’s attack. The criminal made several attempts to trick the two children to open the door for him but they refused.

Doctors Attach Man’s Severed Hands To His Leg

Chinese surgeons recently performed a bizarre surgery in order to save a man’s severed hand. They grafted it on to his ankle for a month, before reattaching it to his arm.

The innovative surgery, according to Shanghaiist, was carried out on a factory worker, Zhou, in China’s Hunan province. Zhou’s left hand was accidentally severed from his arm during an accident involving a spinning blade machine. He was immediately rushed to hospital where Dr. Tang Juyu and his team realised that the damaged nerves and tendons needed time to heal. If they tried to attach the hand to his arm immediately, its cells would die from lack of blood supply.

“Under normal temperatures, a severed finger needs to resume blood supply within 10 hours, but that time is even shorter for a separated limb,” Tang explained. “If a limb is short of blood for too long, its tissues die and it will be unsalvageable.”

Olawumi noted that the exemption of pregnant women and nursing mothers as well as postgraduate students from national service was because they could not undergo the four cardinal programmes of the NYSC.
