According to SaharaReporters, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele has abruptly left President Muhammadu Buhari in the United States on Tuesday, 21st of July, 2015 following the public embarrassment the President meted out to him.
The online news platform reports that a reliable source within the presidency revealed that Mr Emefiele left under the guise of an important meeting in London and his request was granted by the president.
Presidency sources said the CBN governor’s request to leave Washington DC came as a surprise, as he had not previously informed President Buhari of any other meeting he had to attend, especially one that would deprive the President of a prominent member of his delegation.
The location of Mr Jim Ovia who was the cause of Emefiele's predicament is currently unknown.
