Buhari’s US Visit Portends Brighter Future For Nigeria, Africa

The Vice-chancellor of Kwara State University, Malete, Professor Abdulrasheed Na’Allah, has assured that the  official  visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to the United States of America would greatly assist the developmental efforts of his government  to recover and strengthen the nation’s   ailing economy.

Na’Allah, who spoke with journalists during the International Research Workshop on Content Analysis & Communication Audits organised by the Mass communication Department of the university in Ilorin yesterday, said the visit was prompted by the strong belief of President Obama that President Buhari wouldsuccessfully fight corruption and insecurity among other problems he inherited.

He further said that the interest of Obama in restoring Nigeria on the path of greatness was informed by Nigeria’s strategic position in Africa and, indeed, the world at large.

‘’’The visit is because President Barrack Obama believes that with the support of United States of America,President Muhammadu Buhari, with his pedigree and steps taken so far, could restore Nigeria and, indeed, Africa on the path of expected greatness,” he said.

He also expressed concern that many states of the federation, despite the nation’s abundant resources could not pay workers salaries, describing the development as a big shame.

Speaking on the theme of the seminar, Professor Na’Allah harped on the need for effective communication as a necessity for national development.

Na’Allah emphasised that many developing countries of the world failed because of lack of effective communication among the stakeholders, adding that through effective communications, many problems would be solved.

The guest lecturer, Professor Charles Okigbo said no nation, society or institution could survive without good research which he stressed must always be upgraded in line with the reality of the time.

Okigbo said as long as anyone was alive, research was inevitable  to survive in life.
