The veteran actor in an interview with Punch decried his poor financial status despite being widely acknowledged as a legend of sorts in the film industry.
In the make belief world of acting, he is usually casted as a wealthy individual but in reality, veteran actor, Dejumo Lewis, is just another famous Nigerian, who is struggling to make ends meet.
Well known for his role as Kabiyesi in the classic NTA TV series "Village Headmaster", the thespian has cried out that he is the least paid actor despite his 'legendary' status.
In an interview with Punch, the 72-year-old actor said: "I must admit that I have not been rich. I am the poorest paid actor even though people call me a legend or an icon. My pensions were not paid at a time even though it is stipend. You would be shocked how much I receive as pension".
He added that he had to struggle to pay his rent and staff right now, he is indebted to the management of the hotel he is staying.
