20-Year-Old Homosexual Kills Gay Partner Over N600 In Lagos

A 20 year old man homosexual known as Anthony Toms has been arraigned before an Ebute- Metta Magistrates’ Court sitting in Lagos, for allegedly hiring four men to beat his 32-year-old gay lover, Sonye Chukwudi, to death over a N600 debt.

Toms confessed in court that he was angry at his partner who owed him the sum and refused to pay up and he therefore recruited the men, Godwin Francis, 25, Michael Inyang, 21, Evidence David, 23, and Tony Etuk, who beat life out of the deceased.

The accused gay man who admitted he only wanted to teach Chukwudi a lesson and never intended to kill him, said he regretted his actions and would turn a new leaf if he is left off the hook.

The incident, according to the police prosecutor, occurred on June 21, 2015, at Ransom Kuti Garden, Anthony Village.
Investigations carried out reveal that Toms initiated Chukwudi’s murder by ordering his friends to tie his hands and legs and then proceeded to beat him, leading to the victim losing consciousness and never recovering.

Police said that Toms killed Chukwudi because he refused to repay him a N600 debt. The money was for the sales of garden flowers Toms sold to the deceased.

Toms pleaded guilty to the charges and said, “I met Chukwudi a few years back. He lured me into homosexuality. I told him that I’m a gardener. He told me he would need me to get some flowers for him. I did, but he did not pay me the remaining money."
